You may have been organizing your photos when you were at home in the spring. You may be longing to hang the photo from your bucket-list trip that you took a few years ago. Mpix can help you get your photos off the cloud and on to your wall. I love my acrylic print from Mpix.

What is Mpix?

Mpix, a US company, was founded in 1997. The company began in a small town in Kansas, located mid-west. This is a lab that does much more than just print photos. They realized photos tell stories. The photos tell a story about the individual and your choice of how to display your photo will tell your story.

Mpix offers a wide range of features. Upload your photo and you can edit, crop, or touch it up. After you’ve edited the photo to your liking, the fun part begins: you decide how you display it.

Choose from these options when using Mpix

  • Acrylic : A vibrant Mpix acrylic prints! Mpix prints directly onto the 1/4″ acrylic so that there is never any peeling. They add a white screenprint to the image after printing it. This gives the image a translucent look. This is a French Cleat mounting system with a built-in, integrated level. There is no frame.
  • Wood : Mpix prints photos on sustainable wood 1.5″ in a similar way to acrylic. It is available with a wood or white base. The wood’s natural grain and knots are visible through the print.
  • Canvas Gallery wraps Mpix will print your photos onto Certified Archival canvas and then stretch them by hand onto a wooden frame. The frame measures 1.5″ thick, and prints are ready to hang using either a saw tooth or wire mount depending on the frame size.
  • Metal : Mpix prints the photo using dye-sublimation on a sheet of 1/16″ aluminum. You can choose between a metal or white base and an easel or floating mount. Choose from a matte or glossy finish.
  • Frames : Mpix also offers more traditional frames. Choose from sizes ranging from 3.5″ x 5″ to 24″ x 36″. The frames come with a mounting or hanging wire, so they are ready to be hung on your wall. Choose from walnut, mahogany or black. You can also choose metal, bronze, silver, gold and pewter.
  • Collagewall: A very cool way to show a collection. You can select the photos you want to use and choose how many photos will be displayed. Kit includes everything you need including 30 pre-arranged tile arrangements. Print on Masonite, a vibrant metal or semi-gloss. Install the pegs (included with the kit) on your wall and the photos will mount on them and appear to float off the wall.
  • Posters : Mpix also offers large posters for your walls. Upload one photo or select a collage. Posters are available in sizes ranging from 12″ x 18″ to 36″ x 48″. They can also be horizontal or vertical.

My Mpix photo

I selected an Mpix Acrylic Print. I took a picture of an alligator in the bayou near Lake Charles, LA several years ago. She loves alligators and was making a photo-wall during the COVID-19 epidemic while she sheltered at home. The 8”x12” acrylic was the perfect gift.

The print was beautiful. The print captured the vibrant colors of the original.

I selected the Mpix Acrylic Print to capture my favorite photo.

The French Cleat mounting on the back of the acrylic print was cool. The system has a part that is attached on the back of the print. The other piece is equipped with holes and a level, so that you can mount it to the wall. You then slide the acrylic print over the cleat.

It is easy to hang the French Cleat with this mounting system.

My sister’s wall looks great with the photo.

The acrylic Mpix photo of my alligator looks great on the gallery wall.
